BlogRush -- instant traffic to your blogs!!
09/24/2007 - 05:45
***BlogRush***
I just discovered a new way to increase traffic to ALL your BLOGS!!!
BlogRush is brand new site that
uses a credit and referral system to help send traffic to your site.
It's a lot easier than it sounds. All you do is sign up and add your blog(s).
Then you paste html code on to your widget(sidebar)that will have links to other blogs
that are related and in a similar category as your own blog. Each time someone views one of your blogs from now on with one of these Blog-O-Spheres (the html code makes this), you get a "credit". From my understanding, each credit is automatically converted into one of your blogs being linked on someone else's blog-o-sphere box!!
Here is the FAQ from their page:
BlogRush is a "Cooperative Syndication Network." It's a network of blogs that run a small "widget" on their pages. Each time this widget is loaded it will contain 5 clickable headlines which are the blog post titles to other users' posts. Clicking on any of these links will open a new browser window and load the blog and full post. Users earn "syndication credits" based on each time their blog loads the widget as well as each time any of their referrals (users that signup after clicking the "add your blog posts" link on the widget) loads the widget. They also earn additional credit based on all the activity through 10 generations of referrals. 1 Syndication Credit = having one of their recent blog post titles served inside the widget on another member's blog.
How Do I Earn Syndication Credits?
Syndication credits are earned based on the following formula: You earn credits on your own traffic using a 1:1 ratio. (One credit for each time the widget is served.) You then earn credits based on your referrals traffic (and their referrals traffic) through 10 generations of referrals based on the following ratios: 1st and 2nd generation (i.e. your direct referrals and their direct referrals) 1:1, 3rd - 6th generation = 1:4 ratio, 7th - 10th generation = 1:8 ratio. After all the math is calculated, there is a surplus of 1 headline space (5 spaces in each widget load) for every 10 that are served. So 10% of all the headline space is reserved for BlogRush itself to sell or use.
What Types Of Blogs Will BlogRush Work On?
BlogRush will work on any blog that allows javascript to be used AND has an active RSS Feed. It will work on almost all WordPress software (but not the WordPress.com hosted service), MovableType, TypePad, and Blogger (Blogspot.com) blogs, plus others.
What Is A "Feed URL" or RSS Feed?
When you enter information about your blog (for your BlogRush account) you will be asked for a Feed URL. This is the address of your blog's RSS feed. Most popular blog software programs and services have RSS feeds built-in -- however, some do not. If in doubt, see the "Help" pages or instructions for the software or service you use for your blog. Most RSS Feeds are displayed using the common RSS icon that looks like an orange square with white lines. For more information about RSS Feeds, see Wikipedia's RSS Feed description.
How Do I Add The Code To My Blog?
It's as easy as "copying and pasting" the code to your blog's template or source file. Check out the Step-By-Step Tutorial section of our site for video demonstrations.
How Do I Refer Others To BlogRush?
You refer others to BlogRush when they click the referral link areas on the widget that you host and by using a Direct Referral URL that you will be given when you sign up.
How Do I Know How Many Referrals I Have?
You can login to your account and check your "Dashboard" page to see all the stats for your account. This includes the number of referrals, credits earned, credits used, and traffic you are receiving from the network.
How Do I Know What's Going On With My Account?
You can login to your account and check your "Dashboard" page to see all the stats for your account. This includes the number of referrals, credits earned, credits used, and traffic you are receiving from the network.
Can I Keep Certain Blogs From Appearing On My Blog?
Yes. You can login to your account and click the "Settings" tab. In this section you can setup FILTERS. You can setup a "keyword" filter which will keep any blog headline from being served inside the widget on your blog that contains that word or phrase. You can also setup a "Blog" filter where you can enter the URL of a blog which will keep any headlines from that blog from being served.
If BlogRush Is Free How Does It Make Money?
BlogRush may eventually sell the 10% surplus credits to users that want to buy more credits. BlogRush also has plans to sell advertising on its main site and to pursue other partnership agreements which will generate revenue.
What Do I Do If I Have More Than One Blog?
You can add more than one blog to the same account.
Where Can I Report Abuse Or Bugs?
If you see a site that shouldn't be in the BlogRush network, or you discover a bug, please send an email to support@blogrush.com. (Thank you.)
How Will BlogRush Control The Quality Of Blogs In The Network?
BlogRush is in the process of moving to a 100% manual review process.
Won't BlogRush Get Abused Like Every Other Traffic Service?
We have experienced some "cheating" since we recently launched, and we are working hard to completely eliminate all system abuse.
Are There Any Tricks For Getting More BlogRush Traffic?
The biggest tip is to make sure that you write effective headlines. Be specific and make your headlines something that will get attention and encourage someone to click. But never be misleading with your headlines.
Is BlogRush Only For English Language Blogs?
YES. At this time, BlogRush is only for English blogs.

Lost adds more actors - from the Wire and Rescue Dawn
08/31/2007 - 22:18
August 31, 2007
Lost recruits from HBO's THE WIRE and the movie RESCUE DAWN!!
Sources confirm that The Wire's Lance Reddick has been cast in the recurring role of Arthur Stevens, the intimidating corporate-recruiter character. Reddick also had a lengthy arc on HBO's Oz, where he starred opposite returning Lostie Harold Perrineau.
This comes on the heels of another key piece of Lost casting: the addition of Sopranos scene-stealer Ken Leung. However, the specifics of his character remain shrouded in mystery. Rumors had him playing a brilliant mathematician named Russell, but now there's buzz that he's coming on in a top-secret role that no one (save for Darlton) knows anything about. Feel free to get some speculation going in the comments section below. Also, what do you think of Reddick's casting? Thumbs up? Thumbs down? Thumbs sideways?
Also:
On "Lost," from ABC Studios, Jeremy Davies will play one of the freighters. The actor, who most recently appeared in "Rescue Dawn," recently signed with the Gersh Agency. He additionally is repped by Untitled Entertainment and attorney Karl Austen.
Jeremy Davies all dressed up..but will be dressing down on his trip to Hawaii's Set for LOST!!!
LOST is really piling on the actors....hopefully this season will kick some butt!!!
A NEW YORKER's GUIDE to NYC
08/31/2007 - 09:06
A Guide for NEW new yorkers!
Hey New NEW Yawkers!!!
Pay special attention to not falling asleep on the subway lest you land your butt in jail....
http://www.nytimes.com/2007/08/30/nyregion/30students.html?_r=1&oref=slogin
Welcome, Students. Now Watch It.
It’s the time of year when the streets of Morningside Heights, Greenwich Village and a few other neighborhoods are filled with new, unfamiliar faces: college freshmen. Various guides on paper and on the Internet tell these students what they should see and do in their new hometown. Here, then, is the opposite, from the staff writers of The New York Times: a list of things they should not do.
Don’t fall asleep on the subway. So far this year, 150 people have reported that someone made off with their wallet, purse, jewelry or other property while they slept on the train, according to the Police Department. If that’s not bad enough, falling asleep on the train is simply against the rules. Specifically, it is a violation of Section 1050.7, Article C, of the New York City Transit rules of conduct, which states that no rider shall “sleep or doze where such activity may be hazardous to such person or to others.”
Don’t drink too much beer and use the street as a toilet. Drinking in public carries a fine of up to $25, five days in jail, or both. Public urination carries a fine of $50 to $250, 10 days in jail, or both. Also, beware the custom of putting drinks in paper bags to disguise that you’re drinking an alcoholic beverage. “There is no such thing as paper-bagging it and making it legal, even if you put it in a Starbucks cup,” said Edison Alban, a spokesman for the Manhattan district attorney. “You are drinking, regardless.” And besides, if you’re not 21, you shouldn’t be drinking anyway.
Don’t ask a cabbie (or anyone else) to take you to “HUGH-ston” Street. Houston Street, the Lower Manhattan thoroughfare that put the Ho in SoHo, is pronounced HOW-ston. Unlike the city in Texas, which was named for the first president of the short-lived Republic of Texas, Samuel Houston, Houston Street is named for William Houstoun, a Georgia delegate to the Continental Congress who married into a powerful Manhattan family that owned some of the land on which the street is built. The street name was shortened to Houston in the early 1800s.
Don’t play chess for money with the hustlers in Washington Square Park. As they are hustlers, they will take your money. Also, you could be hit with a summons for unlawful gambling and sent to the criminal courts, where a judge would determine what you owe, according to Jama Adams, a spokeswoman for the city’s Parks Department.
Don’t try to swim in the River. The rivers that ring Manhattan are cleaner than they’ve been in decades, but that doesn’t mean they’re safe for a midnight dip. “When people ask me if it’s O.K. to swim in the East River,” said Beau Ranheim, chief of the marine sciences section at the city’s Department of Environmental Protection, “my question to them is, ‘Are you an Olympic swimmer?’ ” Both the East River, on Manhattan’s east shore, and the Hudson River, on the west shore, can move as fast as four knots, Mr. Ranheim said — enough to wash most casual swimmers out to sea. A few people typically drown in the rivers each year. And once you jump in, you will probably find it very hard to climb out: Access points are few and far between.
Don’t count on following the highway signs to get to Yankee Stadium. The markers pointing north from Lower Manhattan along the Franklin D. Roosevelt Drive point only in the general direction of the Bronx and leave much navigation to chance. They are among hundreds of markers known as trailblazers, designed to supplement street signs and direct the way to cultural institutions and hospitals. Their placement is subject to the whims of demand for space and available real estate, so the results are often comically uneven. But fear not: Come October there’ll be no reason to go there anyway.
Don’t spend money on condoms. This year, the city started handing out condoms packaged with subway logo-themed designs. More than 10 million have been distributed, according to the Department of Health and Mental Hygiene. You can find them at places like Beauty Bar on 14th Street and Black Betty in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. In many bars and coffee shops, the condoms are in the wall display with the free postcards, where there’s no need to look the drugstore counter girl in the eye.
Don’t order bottled water. New York City draws its tap water from the Catskill/Delaware supply system, qualifying among five large American cities that are not required to filter their drinking water. This year the city received a 10-year waiver from the federal Environmental Protection Agency to keep providing unfiltered water, and Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg announced plans for the city to spend $300 million buying land to protect its watershed. This summer, health department workers have been distributing empty bottles around the city, urging people to fill them with tap water.
Don’t light up in a bar. Cigarette smoking was banned in all bars and restaurants in New York City in March 2003. That’s why there are lots of people standing around on Rivington Street smoking in the rain. Smoking or carrying an open flame or a lighted match in a nonsmoking area is a violation punishable by a $25 fine, 10 days in jail, or both. And besides, if you’re not 21, you shouldn’t be in a bar anyway.

Latest Acting Gig and YOO EEE (Yuwie)
I did the college thing and I've been hustling around nyc since 2000! I decided to study for 2 years with a 'famous' teacher of the Meisner Technique. I finished that in June of 06 and met some pretty good people...some. One of those gentleman formed his own group Black20 and asked me to do a little role for the group! It was a quick filming and you can see me in full STABBING motion right here!
Many people use MySpace as well as Facebook....but I've recently come across Yuwie (pronounced YOU - e)! It's a site with members/profiles like the aforementioned sites/comments/messages/clubs/blogs etc. BUT they share revenue with ALL users.
The only bad part is that the site is full of ads everywhere, but I don't mind because those ads are making money for Yuwie AND me!! Give it a try..sign up, put up a profile pic, and tell 2 or 3 friends about it. You can even throw it up on your myspace or facebook page to lure people to this new idea to pay the masses for being on the internet!!

Promoting Your Blogs
So you have your blog(s) set up as well as all of your social networks (i.e.,Flixya, Dada, Yuwie, Lazzeo, MSO, MediaFlix, etc.).....
..and you've added a lot of content to all of them plus new posts....
You think to yourself...what can I possibly do now?!?
Well let's promote all of them...
Digg them? Stumble them? Use the Social Bookmarking tool? Use the Add-It Bookmark Button to submit it to even more bookmarking sites? Make Sure your blog is claimed by Technorati?
Sure do all of that...but...
Why not take one of your posts, a piece of one of your posts or write a description about a post or blog on one of your many sites?!?
This way you can have even more content while "promoting" your blogger blog..when you copy the name/title of your blog post..that will act as a link back to that blog post!!!
It's an awesome circular motion of traffic and links...which will add up to more hits and more impressions plus MORE CLICKS = MORE MONEY ! ! ! !
Need a break from Adsense? Why not watch me mug somebody in a comedy?
Maybe you'd like to see me get upset over my Orange Juice?
Or read about the new Imac, methadone addiction, The first 10 diggs ever, John From Cincinatti, What to watch on TV, A waiter's frustration(s)?
You know what..just watch a Japanese Women's Beach Volleyball !

What I TiVo!!!
08/10/2007 - 06:22
My Personal TiVo
TIVO TIVO TIVO ---- WHAT DO I TIVO ---- TIVO TIVO TIVOThere is the normal television season and then there is SUMMER! When Summer comes, I literally push all my summer shows up to the top of my SEASON PASS MANAGER as they are going to be on..while all my regular shows lie in hiatus & suspense(Jack and Claire...maybe you should ta-alk?!).
Normally scheduled programming on my SEASON PASS MANAGER includes:
(This order reflects more of a Days of the Week type setting than my TOP show)
1. Brothers & Sisters -- They fight and fight and fight and fight and fight...the Sally Field and others ShoOoOw (to the tune of Itchy & Scratchy)
2. Prison Break - Ok Season 1 was awesome...season 2 started to become ridiculous...I guess I'm going to see what season 3 is about before I possibly get rid of this show. I don't know if I'm keen on watching everyone go back to jail in an entirely different country?!?
3. How I Met Your Mother - It's a filler show for me(if other things are in reruns)..I do enjoy some of its comedy. Fun to watch Dr. Howser again.
4. Heroes - This show is just awesome..well except for that cop-out part of the finale...and who doesn't love that Zachary Quinto (a.k.a SYLAR) is going to be playing SPOCK in J.J. Abrahams new young STAR TREK movie!
5. REST IN PEACE - STUDIO 60 on the Sunset Strip - It was a little uneven and unbalanced but I still enjoyed it -- I will miss it! I won't miss the whole Danny/Jordan ..."quit stalking me!"..."quit stalking me, you creep!!"...."oh god, of course I'll marry you!!" Everyone together...HUH?!?!?!?
6. House - The pleasure of watching Hugh Laurie not to mention his impeccable bitter American accent!
7. Friday Night Lights - I watched ONLY the pilot and was not impressed. I have the entire season waiting for me to watch. I keep reading over and over and OVER again how everyone LOVES this show...so I will eventually watch more of it to see why!! (This was how I felt about BSG...I need to go back and watch it from the beginning..but is that show REALLY that good too?!?)
8. L O S T - This show stayed entirely true to its name....it LOST most of its audience this season! Hmmm, could it be the 4 month hiatus in between episodes ( Day Break which sadly I watched in its entirety...only to NEVER find out why he keeps 'Groundhog Daying' it each day..at least Bill Murray was repeating the day until he didn't screw it up..or until it was absolutely perfect..?!?)! As for LOST, it was my favorite show and now after this flash forward which I am suspect about...I just want to find out what happened to them...it feels like ONE BIG NIGHTMARE NOW!!!
9. Grey's Anatomy - No more Isaiah Washington (I think I'll leave Bionic Sidekick unlinked!).....not sure how much that will actually change the show. The show has been on a kind of downward spiral for awhile...and I wasn't liking it splitting up an entire episode to show us the pilot for PRIVATE PRACTICE. I somehow think that show won't last....as for Grey's...they draaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaag out story/plot lines forever! I don't like George and Izzie trying to be together...and yes it is weird how George somehow went from.."ohh that's just George" to "ohhhHH OOHHHH GEORGE, YES Baby...YEAH"...He has had the most sex with main characters on the show...Yang is now single...watch out....Georgie boy is coming for ya! I'm still waiting for some people from Patrick Dempsey's 80s movies to guest star....Kirstie Alley or maybe his redhead friend from 'Can't buy me love'...
10. Shark - I recorded the shows...but towards the middle-end started to lose interest.
Of course it's always nice to watch the Jeri Ryan Scenes!!!

See what I mean!!!
11. Ugly Betty - Yes I enjoy all of it...No, I'm not!!!
12. 30 Rock - Alec Baldwin's best work besides his "You're Fired!" Speech from GlenGarry GlenRoss!!
13. FAMILY GUY - a No-Brainer like Peter and a MasterMind like Stewie!
14. Seinfeld - MAN HANDS...Deloras...Muffin Tops..Coffee Table Book...Raisins...Bootlegger!!
15. The Daily Show with Jon Stewart - Nah nahnah nah Nah nah nah...wow sounds like the theme song to me!! Love when he breaks into the Jewy voice...(he calls it that too!!)
16. The Colbert Report - Genius...to mock Bill O'Reilly the best way possible.....and for O'Reilly to be to stupid to realize it all!!
17. South Park - I don't watch it as much as I used to but it's nice to have. (I do like The Simpsons but apparently not enough to season pass it....here comes the HATE MAIL!!!)
18. Inside the Actors Studio - I just want to know EVERYONE'S favorite curse word!!! It does get a bit much when you have the likes of Jennifer Lopez(no link!) on the show...Inside the Celebrity Studio! Still enjoyable...taught me that most actors suffered through their parents divorce..or never knew one of their (or in Nicholson's case...both of their) parents!
19. Robot Chicken - Spot on and funny.....Seth Green lives on!! Classic Hilarious Fact: birth name "Seth Benjamin Gesshel-Green"
20. Dexter - It's a summer show..it's a fall show...I LOVE THIS SHOW! I think it bumped LOST out of the top spot. Sure some of the dialogue is not great and the editing could use more work....but MICHAEL C HALL is SO interesting that you could care less about anything else!!
21. Real Time With Bill Maher - Usually he has on amazing guests and great panels...the discussions sometimes don't go anywhere and they can repeat certain things over and over again...but it's still enjoyable! Especially NEW RULES!!
22. The Office / My Name is Earl - Yes the Office is funny and I will support your arguement that I should TiVo it OVER Ugly Betty (a show you can't stand..especially if you're an OFFICE lover)...my name is Earl has gone downhill but it's a decent filler during reruns!
23. The Shield - I haven't seen all the seasons and have to go back to the beginning on DVD eventually...I know it's awesome! (I also here that THE WIRE is another show that is a must rent on DVD too) Even with my TiVo it's hard to follow SO many shows!!!! Maybe you can do it?!?
24. SNL - Yes it sucks..sucks a lot! That's why I have my TiVo to FF through the bad and watch the good...SOFA KING or Andy Samberg doing a digital short!
25. The Showbiz Show with David Spade(no link..just look under Adam Sandler to find all his credits!) - Mostly funny like Hollywood Minute! Short and sweet...like most of David's sitcoms (except for the sweet part)!
26. Human Giant - Upright Citizen Brigade's Funny Troupe gets their own show...on everyone's funniest network...MTV!!!!!???!! What...huh...yea no clue how they ended up on MTV but hopefully people are watching...Comedy Central (cough)(cough)...I believe Viacom owns you all....talk to each other!
27. [I did watch] Dice: Undisputed...with the same interest as I now watch the two Coreys -- I guess I'm trying to recapture or relive my 80s...thank god I've stayed away from Scott Baio's show...and I'm SO sure he isn't single at 45 by choice...right...uh huh...
[Little Boy Blue : What? He needed the money, OH!]
28. [No I did not cut my testes off..entirely] The View - Originally I started Tivo-ing it so I could watch these catfights between Rosie and HasselRack....I just left it there...now it's fun to see a male guest stuck in between 4 women....always fun
29. Confessions of a Matchmaker - I went to school @ UB and this show takes place in Buffalo! It's nice to see all my old hangouts...not as nice to see how many creepy people still live there!!
30. Tom Goes to the Mayor - Has its comic elements....on occasion
31. Late Night With Conan O'Brien - In the year 2000....in the year 2000..... He should be awesome on the Tonight Show!!
32. Wonder Showzen - I need to actually watch it more....
33. The Sarah Silverman Program - Hit or miss but I have to support my own kind!!
34. Band of Brothers - Something else I have Tivo-ed but never got to watch...
35. Dog Bites Man -- I did not devote enough time to this show from UCB's Matt Walsh
36. Da Ali G Show - Boo ya kasha and VERY NICE!
37. Dirt - Pretty much sucked...yea it sucked...but I just stared at it..wondering when it wouldn't suck..oh yeah..random Wayne Brady appearance in a tough guy "I'm going to flame broil your privates" role!! I knew there was a reason I stuck with it!
38. 30 Days - Very very very interesting (Yes I have seen Dirty Jobs and while it's not bad..no season pass)!! Morgan Spurlock's adventures of our country's bad situations!
39. Extras - I'm pretty sure it's over and I will miss Ricky Gervais & his "is he havin' a laugh?!?"
40. Curb Your Enthusiasm - Usually Higher up on this list which isn't in any kind of order but it's ALWAYS on hiatus...yea I could get more reruns tivoed!! Quote this show til death!!
41. I'm from Rolling Stone - I have never seen a worse group of people given an extraordinary opportunity and then BLOW it...even the winner sucked....just wow.
42. The Riches - I think the writing/story lines could use some tweaking but definitely one of the MOST underrated new shows of the season! Eddie Izzard & Minnie Driver kick butt in this one.
43. The Sopranos - "Don't Stop..." to watch the finale......I think I wasn't loving how they went down....RIP or not...David Chase(link-fuggehdaboudit)...any clues...answers..maybe we should go back to season 2 and find out if you'll make a Sopranos movie?!?
44. Ebert & Roeper - Now it's Roeper & Guest Critic....I watch but think Roeper makes odd choices about what he likes and doesn't like!!
45. Show I am missing --- Fill in the blank for me with a comment ( Before you do..I have more shows that are mostly Summer Below)
-----------
SUMMER TIVO
Weeds and Californication are coming back like I said!!
1. Masters of Science Fiction - It's a Mini-Series...I missed recording the 1st episode...at least I will feel like LOST is back, catching Terry O'Quinn in episode 2 this weekend!
2. Traveler - I was under the impression this was a time traveling show. It's called TRAVELER...but I watched it for what it was...a bad BAD version of like Prison Break's conspiracy story line...which is also now a bad version of all conspiracy shows...urgh!
I guess it's weird to watch so many shows and follow them..only to NEVER find out what actually happened...(INVASION...they were all aliens..but from where....and why..and how)
3. On the Lot - The movies that were made kind of all suck...but I can't imagine it being easy to make a movie with people you don't know in such a short amount of time from scratch.
I like it enough to keep watching....just to find out who will get this DREAM JOB with Spielberg!
4. The Next Best Thing -I liked the opening rounds when they trashed people sorta...but then I got bored...I didn't even care who won! ( I also started Tivo-ing the Pirate reality show..but in the end could not bring myself to hit play on any of them...only delete...)
5. Hell's Kitchen - Feels WAY more staged than ever...is getting tired...but I enjoy watching the chef scream (although I like watching him so much better over on BBC AMERICA for his Kitchen Nightmare Show)
6. Entourage - "The Boys of Summer" have been dragging lately...HBO must have been desperate by having two seasons air back to back! Drama and even Ari...seemed to have been a little upstaged by Walsh....*writer meeting!!!* (Val Kilmer Cameo from Season 1 still is the BEST!!)
7. Big Love - This show always has kept my interest and after what happened last week...I'm convinced they are not afraid to try anything and everything on this show!! I like its BIG BALLS!!!
8. John From Cincinatti - I actually went from not really liking the first episode..but then as I kept watching..I started to understand it more and more....still confused but just love watching Ed O'Neill playing someone so conflicted..."I got my EYE on YOU!!!"
9. Rescue Me - I feel like this season hasn't been as good as last but still entertaining as always...how do you beat Leary's faces & line deliveries?!?
10. The Two Coreys - So far I'm not too impressed...only saw 2 shows and i'm sick of feldman's wife...maybe even feldman..and I liked feldman better than haim as a kid....AHHHHHHHHHH!!!
11. Psych - It amuses me in a weird way!! Plus Corbin Bernsen (no link!..come on!) is still working and that makes me happy!
12. Damages and 13. Mad Men - I have Tivo-ed but as of now have yet to watch any of the episodes...call it : I don't have the time or the overwhelming excitement..same goes for
14. THE BRONX IS BURNING!!! I hear some of this is really good....I will watch it eventually..(14a. The Company - 3 movie actors got together for 4 parts that I have not seen yet either!)
15. Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares - I love the fact that he comes to a restaurant that is IN DEBT..usually 100k or more..and they don't want to be criticized!!! It is possible some of that is staged...and yes people have pride/ego...but if you are doing THAT badly...swallow your pride and listen to this guy b/c he's making tons of $$$$! !
16. Flight of the Conchords - It has its moments of funny but does have this feeling of repetitiveness....I loved Human Giant's Aziz Ansari's cameo as a racist fruit vendor!
17. It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia - I think this is premiering sometime in August or September....It's usually really out there...which makes it funny! Not sure how I feel about Danny Devito being on it now...it had to of helped ratings!
Okay there are my season pass lists (I do have some wishlists I didn't include...some directors..older movies/classics I never saw as I was only born in '78 ! !)!!!
This fall looks just as tough if not tougher than most..with SO many new shows..always tough to know what will be worth watching..and then trying to work around scheduling conflicts!!
Leave your own lists, opinions, comments...or LET ME HAVE IT IN RIGHT IN THE FACE!!!
TiVo, TivA, guess TivEE was taken..tiv-you!
To Tivo or not to Tivo. . .
08/06/2007 - 09:14
To TiVo or not to TiVo. . .
That will be My question here at TiVotime ! !I welcome any & all opinions, but it doesn't mean they will all be respected.
I'm sure I will have many items listed here regarding what to TiVo or what I personally TiVo that will make some shiver (a.k.a. The Two Coreys[fan page])and some that everyone
TiVos (Heroes)!
It's cool that TiVo has become a verb. I have seen people with other DVRs and while they are getting better & more user-friendly...they will never match the ease and comfort of the TiVo!
The only negative thing about TiVo is that it is always on and operating which means the boxes tend to have shorter lives..some people get lucky and still have their original TiVos!! I have two - one with a Lifetime membership which is now no longer an option and one which costs me $18 a month!
(If your tivo ever gets stuck on the Welcome screen or has any other problems..call tech support and they will help you.....chances are you'll have to get a new TiVo which will cost you about $160-$170 for the exchange -- if you have a lifetime membership..it's the only way to keep it!!)
I will be posting my TiVo lists as well as talking about certain shows specifically!
All good fun for the BEST way to watch television...what you want whenever you want!!

WEEDS Season 3 is coming (plus Californication!)
Ok so the first show I'm going to bring up is Showtime's most anticapted returning show (besides DeXter which won't be back until September 30! Michael C. Hall was definitely robbed of an Emmy Nom.!) WEEDS ! Also Mr. Tea Leoni himself, David "mulder-box" Duchovny is returning to television in Californication ! Before I get to insight and comments (make sure you set both of these shows to SEASON PASS ! -- I hope Californication stays...WEEDS no matter how not AMAZING some of it is...it stays!), here are some more awesome pics:
The fact that this show is hilarious and Mary-Louise Parker is talented (and $mokin' Hot)
certainly helps keep my interest....and keeps me coming back season after season!
Season 2 left us with a cliffhanger that left Nancy in a HUGE mess - a drug deal gone hairy plus her son getting taken down! The funniest lines usually go to Justin Kirk with Kevin Nealon and Elizabeth Perkins getting their own funny on too! Besides the normal guest stars and different bands now fighting to write their own versions of the show's theme song "Little Boxes", this season brings us an OLSEN TWIN?!? I hope this helps the show and her acting has improved.
I think this is the same OLSEN that was studying in Manhattan with my same acting teacher, William Esper. It would be too scary for me to link Mary-Kate (or Ashley) for that matter so you don't have to try to have in your brain any other credit than "Full House"(and Page Six).
Romany Malco (Conrad on the show) says M-K Olsen is funny so let's hope he's right!
August 13th (and I'm sure a lot of reruns) is the premiere date for both Weeds and Californication -- of course with TiVo -- who knows when any of us will actually watch it!
Californication, I truly know very little about...I know there are emotional issues (duh matt..isn't that every tv show?!) and there is a TON of NUDITY! I want to go into it cold much like I do many new shows...such as John From Cincinatti which after a few episodes I liked more and more (I accepted the HUH?? factor and even though this looks like the only season..still entertaining as well as confusing)!
In fairness to all those who love David...let me show a Duchovny for ya:
Such a tease...such a tease...(Me or Mrs. Claus...)
Okay ok alright:

Happy TiVo-ing!

A response to my First Commenter ! !
LifeisEasy posted : " what 30% when did it go that high ??? I was working for $2.01 an hour and got 15% if they had great service..."At one time 15 percent was considered better than average -- some people to this day will just double the tax which was (still is some places) standard practice. Wages per hour are higher in most places now. The lowest I ever made an hour was maybe $3.20 and now it's at like $4.65 maybe. Waiters are not working for this money as you know LifeisEasy , it is just to make us on the books employees. A waiter's real and true salary are his or her tips!
Where i work, if I got only 15 percent tips. I would walk with 10 percent because I tip the food runners 2 percent, the busboys (the do-nothings-where I work anyways) 2 percent and the bartender 1 percent! If I want to leave with 15 percent in my pocket, I have to average 20 percent. Yes 30 percent was an exaggeration but not entirely! I'd say more and more people are leaving between 20-25 percent.
The people who are still leaving 15 percent or less are usually from middle america or down south (or as some of them say, souf -- not all..but some). Personally I feel like 15 percent is the lowest acceptable tip -- to me it's insulting to get anything less than 18-20 percent. I can live with 15 but I'm not loving it!
The biggest problem with tipping and customers is that they are served by usually ONE PERSON (some places you get more of a tag team style of service) but that doesn't mean only ONE person is making their experience. The waiter most likely (although I have done some of these things for my own table as I'm sure some of you have) did not A) Make your bar drinks, B) cook or prepare any of your food, C) set your table or wipe it clean before you sat, D) sat you at your table and handed you menus, E) got you that hi-chair or booster seat, F) Make sure your bathroom experience was a clean one and maybe even make sure you got clean towels/soap, G) Bring you all your food, H) Answer all your questions about the restaurant, menu or other, I) Showed/told you where the restrooms are & exit, J) Got you extra something..napkins or sauces, K) A million other things that I'm not going to list...!!!
People don't give any of that a second thought...they gasp at me when I'm trying to tip..especially because they would never come close to leaving what I would leave...so deep down inside they feel guilty or strange.
I once went on a date and left like a $6 tip on a $27 bill. I thought that was a nice tip...nothing special. The girl was in shock saying that her and her girlfriends(maybe two others with her) wouldn't leave more than $3. Well the waiter would probably get to keep half of that $3 tip after tipping out...which means they talked to us, got our order/drinks, checked on us and did it all in a timely fashion..and all for a measly $1.50.....
I appreciate your comment.... but I guess knowing that the other night in one night I was tipped $45 on a $71 tab as well as $70 on a $190 check.....the 15 percent is not looking so good!!!
Thanks for giving me a real first big rant to write on the only REVENGE page in town...!!!
Happy Eating!
